Burns Supper FAQs:
What does black suit/highland attire mean? What should I wear?
Gents should wear kilts or dark suits (not tuxedos!) Cocktail attire is appropriate; ladies are encouraged to include plaid accessories, such as a sash.
What happens at a Burns Supper?
Guests can expect a warm greeting & bagpipe music, and they'll find the bar stocked and ready to sell Hurst Ranch wine and Bear Tent Brewery beer. Scotch is a big part of a Burns Supper, and donations will be accepted for drams. There is a set order of events at a Burns Supper, which includes different speakers throughout the night, Burns works, including an ode to the haggis (it's ceremonial, you don't have to eat it unless you want to!), and many fun toasts. A full Scottish dinner will be provided, silent auction items will be available, and everyone takes pictures and has a great time! Dinner starts promptly at 6 p.m., so come early for cocktail hour!
